Hornington Manor Open Evening

Sorry for the radio silence recently, we’ve been crazy busy catering for lots of lovely weddings and events and having great fun whilst we do it! We did want to share some images from the Hornington Manor Open Evening that we recently attended – if you are looking for a venue and you haven’t checked them out yet then make sure you do. This stunning venue has everything including a beautiful barn which has been renovated to the highest standards, along with the luxury accommodation in the Manor House. Surprisingly, it’s still a working farm too so you can enjoy the countryside with the sheep and the alpaca’s being your nearest neighbours.

Headed up by Jo, the Events Manager, the team there are second to none. Nothing is too much trouble but they still manage to maintain enough of a distance that you feel that you’re the only people there which of course is perfect, as you have sole use of the venue.

There are plenty of options for having your ceremony at Hornington Manor, including the Lych Gate if you’d like to be outdoors, inside the barn or the Gallery, or even the Ballroom in the West Wing for a more intimate group. We’ve catered for so many weddings at this beautiful venue and no two have been the same.

The next Open Evening is set to take place on Monday 11th September – we’ll bring you more details when we have them. In the meantime, make sure you head over and check out this gorgeous venue that definitely has a piece of our hearts and we’ll sure it will capture a piece of yours too Check out Hornington Manor here…

Thank you to Craig of Craig Rodgers Photography for these lovely images. You can check him out here… C J Rodgers Photography

Venue Spotlight- the fabulous Westfield Lake Weddings

We’re incredibly lucky to work in some of the most stunning locations and we’re always very excited when we find fabulous new venues. Imagine our excitement when we had the opportunity to visit Westfield Lake Weddings in Goole, which is a beautiful 18 acre park filled with grass and woodland, and an 8 acre lake.

Not only do you have fabulous views and more space than you can fill, there’s these gorgeous pods for you to camp in! How cute are these?

Westfield do have some amazing packages, including their Platinum range which is £10,000 and this marquee seats up to 240 guests, which is fabulous.

We can wax lyrical about this beautiful venue but we’d suggest you contacting Zoe to chat through the options. She’s incredibly lovely and happy to talk through all the services the site and the team can offer, helping you to create a truly bespoke day. Check them out on Facebook here or give them a call on 07817 251675.

We hope that we get to work with Zoe and her team very soon and we wish them all the luck in the world with this fabulous venue <3

Venue Spotlight – The Normans Farm

We have the pleasure of working in lots of different venues throughout Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire (primarily) and if you ask the F4D team they’ll all have their favourites. We’re pretty sure that The Normans Farm will feature quite heavily in that list. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for?

First, let’s introduce you to these two cool cats – Oliver and Laura (along with Betty the Pug) who are the husband and wife team behind The Normans

This fabulous photo was taken by Kate Gray Photography

Here’s Laura and Oliver’s story…

‘Our own love story began amidst the bright lights of Dubai, where we worked as magazine editors on leading lifestyle and travel titles before we traded sun, sea and glamour for farm life in North Yorkshire.
While Oliver toiled the land, Laura continued her career as a features editor for County Wedding Magazines (which means she knows more than a thing or two about how to create a show-stopping wedding!)
We love The Normans so much that we wed here ourselves in December 2014. And we weren’t the first – the farm’s set the scene for a number of Robinson family weddings, which inspired us to spend the past year transforming it into a cool, country venue that we believe is unique to the area.
We’re thrilled to announce that The Normans has now been transformed into a fully licensed venue, so you can now book this special place for your own unforgettable wedding. Our bespoke approach means that no wedding here will ever look or feel the same, nor will you be treated like ‘just another bride and groom’. And while we’ll be on hand to share all our creative ideas, we’re just as happy to leave you to it, to create your own dream day’

Every wedding we’ve catered for at The Normans is completely different but they have all had one thing in common – a wonderful relaxed day filled with lots of laughter and fun (and great food of course!).

Here’s just a small selection of images from some this beautiful venue…

Selby Rugby Club Sportsman’s Dinner & Summer Ball

We’re often asked to cater for large scale events and working with Selby Rugby Club recently was a perfect example of this. They held a Sportsman’s Dinner for 476 guests on Thursday evening followed by a quick turnaround of the marquee ready for their Summer Ball for 506 on the Saturday. Events like these are always great fun to work and this was no exception.

They had a fabulous marquee provided by Classic Marquees (it’s always a pleasure to work with these guys) – a marquee for this many people always has to be sizeable and Classic did not let us down. Check out the sheer size of the marquee on this video… (Footage courtesy of Miles Hebden)

For Thursday’s Sportsman’s Dinner, guests dined on a menu of Pate with Chutney, Rocket Leaf and Croutes followed by locally sourced Roast Beef, accompanied by Mash & Roast Potatoes, Yorkshire Puddings, Fresh Seasonal Vegetables and lashings of Gravy. Dessert was an all time favourite of Sticky Toffee Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream then a Cheese Board, along with fresh coffee or Yorkshire Tea and Petit Fours.

Saturday’s Summer Ball was a varied menu with guests having advance choices of either a Posh Prawn & Smoked Salmon Cocktail with a Bloody Mary Sauce or a Mezze Plate of Parma Ham, Sunblushed Tomatoes, Olives, Mozzarella, Houmous and Pitta Sticks followed by either Lamb Rump with a Minted Jus, a Pork Trio of Belly Pork, Black Pudding and a Sausage Lollipop or Chicken Breast filled with a Sage and Onion Sausage Meat Stuffing, each accompanied by Dauphinoise Potatoes and Vegetable Bundles. The meal was rounded off with either Banoffee Pie (seriously, our chefs make THE most amazing Banoffee Pies!) or Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream then a Cheese Board served with Coffee, Yorkshire Tea and Chocolate Truffles.

Posh Prawn & Smoked Salmon Cocktails and Mezze’s as far as the eyes can see!

A huge thanks to the fantastic team at Selby Rugby Club, especially Wendy, Emma & Karen – it was a pleasure working with you all.

There ain’t no party like a F4D party… Babafest 40

They always say the best parties are in the kitchen and we’ve never been one to argue with that, however Team F4D are now all in agreement that some of the best parties happen in a Serentipi Last Saturday’s Festival themed 40th birthday party for James was absolutely no exception and the team were all sparkly and ready to go…

We worked with two of our industry faves at this event, Serentipi and Mix & Twist and that alone is guaranteed to make a great party but the entertainment was second to none. Bloxed Beats were brilliant as were Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw and DJ Judge Jules. Here’s Grimmy with the fab guys from Bloxed Beats (trust us, these guys are really good!)…

Happy Birthday to James. We hope you had a fabulous night – thank you for allowing us to play a part in it.
