When did you launch your business and what is your background?
CPW Chauffeur Services launched in January 2016 and is run by Colin who served as a Police Constable in North Yorkshire Police for 30 years, retiring in September 2015. Since then he has combined his personal protection experience and love of driving to offer an impeccable first class service.
Colin wanted to put all the skills and experiences he had accrued in the Police and take on a new challenge which he has done in the form of his Chauffeur Company, CPW Chauffeur Services, about which he is extremely passionate – aiming to deliver the same high quality service to new clients as he provided to Royalty and Heads of State.
Being the company owner and principle driver we feel his background is important to not only reflect his own personal qualities that are the essence of the company’s reputation but the same high standards apply to chauffeurs who work for us and represent our strong principles of service and professional care.
Colin’s Police and Close Protection background means he has become an expert in planning and logistics having planned hundreds of firearms operations and VIP Protection visits including visits by HM The Queen and the majority of the British Royal family, past Prime Ministers and Politicians and former US Presidents namely George Bush (Snr).
Attention to detail is Colin’s watch word and his nature is being a perfectionist so he will devote 110% effort and enthusiasm when planning every job leaving no stone unturned as well as factoring in any “what ifs” that may occur. He is a problem solver and will think on his feet as well as a great communicator and will always go that extra mile to guarantee his clients are satisfied.
Tell us a bit about the services you offer. How would you describe your style?
Our style is appropriately captured in our tag line which is that “we offer a bespoke and enviable service with a distinguished reputation for being professional, personable and punctual.”
We offer a wide and diverse range of services from Weddings, Proms, Sightseeing and Guided Tours, Airport transfers, Special occasions and Country Pursuits.
Country pursuits are when CPW Chauffeur Services really comes in to its own and stands out from most other chauffeur companies!
The flagship vehicle of the fleet, the iconic Range Rover Sport offers everything all other chauffeur cars can do and so much more. And our service comes with the peace of mind that your chauffeur is a retired police firearms instructor with years of handling firearms and gun safety expertise.
Full door to door service from transport hub to shoot lodge to moor.
Robust 4×4 capability allows clients to be driven off road over some of the toughest terrains to their grouse butts or shooting pegs.
Large comfortable roomy air conditioned vehicle with oodles of luggage space for guns and ancillary equipment.
Personal Loading Service as drivers are National Gamekeepers Organisation (NGO) Qualified Loaders.
Overnight gun cleaning and storage as some drivers have their own shotgun licences, guns and cabinets.
Drivers appropriately dressed in shooting tweeds and country wear and have a full understanding of the etiquette involved in a days shooting.
Drivers have their own PPE and gun cleaning kit and often carry spares.
Driver only service where we drive you in your own vehicle.
Loading only service.
Weddings are our other speciality.
On one of the most important days of your life you want everything to be perfect and go to plan. There will be a plethora of things to organise and the pressure to get things right can be immense.
We take the pressure off you when it comes to sorting out your wedding transportation needs.
We can provide:
Transport for Groom and his party.
Transport for Bridesmaids and family members.
End of evening transport for Bride and Groom and other guests from reception venue to hotels.
Putting into practice his Close Protection planning background Colin will recce venues, drive and time routes and factor in alternate routes in case of any eventuality.
If practicable Colin always likes to have a meeting with the Bride and Groom before the big day which gives things a more personal touch.

Any favourite moments from a wedding?
All our weddings are special because we meet our clients and therefore create a rapport and personal yet professional relationship with them. This is reflected in our feedback as well as the personal ‘Thank you cards’ and gifts we receive.
Where are you located and what areas do you offer services in?
We are located in Tadcaster where we have lived for nearly 30 years so we are a truly local business and love providing our services to the community. We do however offer our services anywhere in the country and have done so as far and wide as Inverness to Southampton so the entire length and breadth of the country.
How far in advance would you recommend that couples book you?
We are already taking bookings for weddings in 2019 but realise that Brides and Grooms like to plan well in advance. However for other types of work we do operate on a short notice basis if we have availability.
What type of bride or groom do you think your style appeals to and why?
Our style does not appeal to any specific dynamic. Our customers must be looking for a modern wedding car and generally love Range Rovers which perfectly compliments a rural location or a venue such as Hornington Manor, The Normans, Priory Cottages or Skipbridge Weddings. They also look amazing at Tipi, Yurts or Marquee weddings.

We were absolutely delighted to not only cater for The Hollytree Foundation Charity Ball but also for some of the team to attend as guests. We do like to support local charities wherever we can and this was no exception. Held at the stunning Scampston Hall the guests partied the night away and danced until the early hours to the fabulous Nightjars band.
Over 320 guests dined on canapés, a Trio of Salmon, Butter Roasted Breast of Guinea Fowl and Confit Leg wrapped in Parma Ham, followed by Tarte au Citron served with Lemon Curd Ice Cream and Fresh Berries.
The Hollytree Foundation is a wonderful charity who support the parents and carers of children who are in mental health units, often located many miles away from home. The added pressure of travelling, and the increased costs associated with this, combine to make an already difficult time almost impossible for those caring for children with mental health issues. The funds raised from the Ball will give the Foundation a much needed boost to continue with their work. You can find out more about them, and how to support them, here

If you haven’t already visited the lovely Oakwell Hall & Country Park then make sure you add them to your venue checklist. Situated in Birstall, near Leeds, this is a Grade I listed Elizabethan Manor House with a restored period garden and set in 110 acres of country park.
Ceremonies can take place either in the stunning Great Hall (up to 60 guests) or the barn which can seat 110 guests.
We’re very proud to be associated with Oakwell Hall and to be one of their approved caterers. We’ve had many fun weddings there, including this one for the fabulous Michael & Ian.
